The material

Why 100% Flax Linen

Pick it up and you'll feel the difference before you know why — a cool, substantial weight that synthetic fiber can't fake. Every napkin is 100% pure flax, grown and woven without a trace of synthetic fiber, the same way considered tables have been set for thousands of years. It softens with use instead of wearing thin, so the napkin you unfold tonight will feel better a hundred washes from now than it does today.

Drinks up spills, then releases themPure flax absorbs up to 20% of its weight in moisture, so it resists staining and washes clean instead of holding onto what synthetic fibers trap.
Built to outlast youAbout 30% stronger than cotton fiber for fiber — these are napkins your grandchildren could still be using.
Gets better with ageEach wash relaxes the weave a little more, so it grows softer and more supple instead of thinning out.
Returns to the earth100% biodegradable, with none of the synthetic processing that keeps other fabrics from ever fully breaking down.
GOTS CertifiedGrown and processed as certified organic fiber, free of harmful chemicals from field to finished napkin.
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100Independently tested and certified free of harmful substances, so every napkin is safe against the skin.

Care & questions

Caring for your linens

Machine wash cold with like colors, and skip the fabric softener — it coats the fibers and dulls the texture over time. Tumble dry low, or better yet, line dry to help the linen keep its character. A warm iron on the reverse side will smooth out wrinkles if you like a crisper look, though a little rumple is part of linen's charm.
